Comments: How do you beat Drago? I beat him once, and once only years ago. Now I can't make it past the sixth round. What a game!

Comments: I'm back again to say I just beat the game twice in a row. The key is to score a 7 on the 2nd training, above an 80 on the 3rd training session. Doing so will allow Rocky to stand toe to toe with Drago, pounding him over and over with the power punch.

Zillion

Comments: Based on the japanese anime of the same name, Zillion is one of the best examples of how to do a platform/shooter. Definately one of the best SMS games. A save option would have been o.k. but I think thats what gave this game its mystique. I remember leaving my system on all day while i went to school just to get home to find out my mom turned it off!!! From that experience I took my SMS apart and disconnected the LED under the hood and started all over again! Is it me or did Apple have really nice breasts?

Rambo: First Blood Part II

Comments: You MUST play this game 2-player. It's a well presented shoot'm up with cool power-ups and tons of strategy. This is what MERCS should have been. A little slow, but later on in the levels you'll appreciate it! "I'm coming for you Murdock!"

Comments: One of the first translations to a home console and it was a good one! A little flickering but hey, you can't get arcade perfect with a z-80 processor! Some slow down in the game but doesn't affect the game too much. Yet another reason I became a Sega system lover....now back to Ikaruga!

Rastan

Comments: Rastan.....an arcade classic well represented on the good 'ol SMS. I don't know what JEREMY is talking about, but this music was perfect for this style of game! You have to realize that this game originally game out in the arcades in '86! I think the music complemented this game so much that it made it MORE enjoyable. Some frame rate loss in the translation but you owe it to yourself to have this in your collection.

Comments: Its a damn shame this franchise is going to PS2...Sony heads don't deserve such a treat! Not as good as the arcade(of course)but a valliant effort on Sega's part. I think this was definately Sega's first "system seller". And if you bought the NES version of this game...you should be shot with super-soakers full of urine!

Comments: I agree totally with everything that ANTHONY BURNS wrote. When I first played this game on the SMS, I was amazed at what they accomplished with the inferior hardware! Not perfect so it won't get a ten from me, but then again, almost nothing ever does! Maybe a select few. I was lucky enough to have my copy signed by YU SUZUKI himself!!!!! Great game. Thanx Yu

Wonder Boy in Monster Land

Comments: Anyone who rates this game lower than a 9 is an absolute MORON! Great control, great sound, music and graphics. Tons of secrets, great RPG elements in a platform/adventure game. The pinnacle of SMS 2-d gaming. This game really stood the test of time. You can re-package this game for the GBA and I guarantee it will STILL get high scores! An absolute blast to play...even by todays standards. If you guys read any of my other reviews, you know I don't give out tens to just ANY game. But this is pretty near perfection! I remember I went to Gemco with my birthday money to buy Shinobi. They were sold out & not to many plces sold SMS games. I really wanted a game for my birthday and i couldn't wait next week for Shinobi!!! So I went on a whim and bought "Wonder Boy in Monster Land".....one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life!(review mags weren't popular and the internet wasn't invented yet) No disrespect to Shinobi ofcourse. This game is in my top 10 of ALL TIME!

Comments: Doesn't "Quartet" mean 4....The arcade game was great-the sms game was pretty good. You know if you plug the Genesis 4-player adapter into the sms you can get the other two players!!!!! just kidding

Comments: Pretty damn good shooter. Plug in an RFU (rapid fire unit for you sega heads) and hold down buttons 1&2 at the beginning of the game and your "helpers" will appear. If you dont have an RFU.....Time for your "track&field" skills to take over!

Comments: Double Dragon the way it was meant to be played-2 player! Another reason why I loved my SMS more then the "other" system. If you do 33 "backward jump kicks" in a row you get unlimited continues! Yo T - it DID come out in the U.S.
